How to Activate Voicemail on a Blackberry. Blackberry smartphones are automatically equipped with voicemail, but you need to set it up first to use it. All of the Blackberry phones use the same basic setup procedure for voicemail. ![]() I've searched to see if others have problems using voicemail with O2 and came across this section. I have an iPhone 5 and a monthly O2 contract. Voicemail never has worked properly since I got the phone last year. Before that I had the iPhone 4 and had similar issues but not so frequent. I have tried all the usual things of resetting, hard resetting, full restore, switching it off then on again, changing the password, network reset, you name it all have been tried, including taking the SIM out and cleaning it. The issue still prevails. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The longest I have had is 7 days for a voicemail message to appear. Mostly I do not know there are any unless I dial 901 to access voicemail. I have rung O2 and initially with two calls two very unhelpful results. Never come across the problem said one - despite what you read if you Google the problem! One suggested I put the iPhone 5 SIM card in my iPhone 4 (my wife now uses it) and when I pointed out it would not fit the person at the other end at O2 seemed somewhat nonplussed. Ultimately I made a formal complaint to O2; I got a response and the matter was treated seriously. Eventually I was told it may be a network problem. That was a month or so ago. Nothing further has happened. I still do not get visual voicemail messages even if I am in the middle of a City, say Newcastle, with high signal strength. Very occasionally but not always if I do a hard reset of the phone the messages suddenly come in but no more thereafter or if they do arrive it is days after. I have suggested to O2 the phone may be at fault, it seems others have similar issues. Any more suggestions from readers as I have tried all those you read here? I cannot see it as beng a network problem if it does not work in the middle of big City. Apr 16, 2013 2:08 AM. I had tried that command previously after installing the mailbox license but it appeared to be activating the evaluation license rather than the installed permanent one. This document - - seemed to suggest that the license activate command was only used for activating evaluation licenses. I later realised that the evaluation mailbox license had a priority of High whilst the installed license was only Medium - this explained why the activation command was activating the evaluation license.
